The advantages and disadvantages of wood kitchen

Wooden cuisine is associated with solidity, beautiful appearance and timeless design. That is just one side of the coin. The second one is not so impressive anymore, which is why many people, who would theoretically be able to afford to order kitchen furniture made of wood, choose different solutions. Advantages: It’s not just the appearance that makes the difference.
The main advantage of wood cooking, of course, is the quality of the material itself. Wood is natural, so it can be easily adapted to any finishing style. Covering the furniture fronts with lacquer without any problems will give you a kitchen that will perfectly correspond with even a very modern interior.
Wooden furniture will certainly last much longer than MDF furniture. Wood is solid and can be repaired. When a small accident occurs and a depression or scratch appears on the front, a good carpenter can easily mask such a defect. This is a huge advantage.
For many people, the prestige of wood cuisine is also an asset. There is no shortage of people who pay special attention to the quality of finishing their interiors, so they invest in the most expensive solutions in order to maintain a high social status (even just for a show).
Disadvantages: there are more of them than you might think.
A wood kitchen is not the ideal solution, no matter what budget you have. Of course, at the beginning we need to mention the very high price of wooden kitchen installation. In addition, not every carpenter will take on such a task. The price difference with MDF boards, even painted ones, can be exorbitant.
What is much more important is that wooden furniture reacts poorly to climate change in the interior. Much higher air humidity regularly occurs in the kitchen, which has an impact on the kitchen installation.
As a result, non-stop furniture “works”, and this causes its drying out and even cracking. Moreover, at different times of the year, there may be problems with opening the cabinets – if the wood swells, the owner will have to deal with such an effect.
Let us also not forget that wooden furniture will require maintenance over time. Otherwise, it is not the appearance that can be damaged, but that can be impaired. This is particularly the case with the oak housing, which contains natural tannins that cause the wood to darken.
As you can see, the choice is not as obvious as it might seem. In practice, wooden kitchen furniture is more of a proposal for traditionalists and individualists, who simply do not like to build from the board. However, they must accept the obvious shortcomings of this solution.
