In primary cultures, nasal piercing is of great social importance. In our world it is only a form of expression and a way to decorate your body. Nose piercing, although it may look macabre, is not that painful at all. However, this does not mean that everyone can afford it.
How does the nose pierce?
First of all, the eartag gun does not apply. Nose piercing is carried out using a Venetian needle or an injection needle. The treatment should be ordered by an experienced beautician or tattoo maker. Maximum hygiene is essential – the venipuncture must be disinfected, as must the needle and eartag themselves.
What earring should I choose?
It is worth leaving this task to a specialist, as the type of earring is strictly dependent on the place where the nose is pierced. It should be remembered that contrary to the stereotype, no silver or gold earrings are used – both of these metals lengthen the healing process of the wound.
Currently, the most popular are earrings made of G23 titanium, PTFE or so-called bioplastic. Their advantage is that they are free of allergenic nickel and hypoallergenic.
There are more than one name for Piercing
The nose can be pierced in different places. Everything depends on what aesthetic effect you want to achieve. There are three basic methods:
Nostril Piercing – the nose flake is pierced. This is the basic, least painful and invasive method of piercing, but not everyone will like it because of the not very spectacular end result.

Septum Piercing – the cartilage of the nasal septum is pierced through. This method is so painful and invasive that sometimes a small fork is used and only the skin underneath the cartilage is pierced. The procedure is performed under local anesthesia.

The procedure is performed under local anesthesia. Bridge Piercing – pierces the skin over the nose, between the eyes. This procedure is very painful and can only be performed by an experienced specialist, who is aware that the puncture site is strongly blood-stained. Bridge piercing is often associated with unpleasant complications, including the rejection of an ear tag.
After the procedure
It is necessary to strictly follow the specialist’s recommendations and take care of hygiene. Wash your hands thoroughly before touching the earring. Wash the puncture site several times a day with physiological salt or an aseptic agent. Do not use a cotton towel to dry your face, as it is the habitat of bacteria; instead, you should use a paper towel.
Can anyone give in to nose piercing?
No. There are a number of contraindications, among them:
Sensitisation to metal,
Pregnancy,
AIDS,
WZW,
Blood clotting disorders,
Cardiovascular diseases,
Renal diseases,
Cancer,
Skin disorders at the site of the planned puncture.
Neither should people who work in exposed positions and have direct contact with the customer give up piercing their noses – such decoration is still not widely accepted.
